Financial Times: Nabucco pipeline plans scaled down
The companies behind the proposed 3,900km Nabucco pipeline that would carry natural gas from the Caspian region to Europe have pitched a slimmed-down version of the project, acknowledging the challenges confronting their original vision.
The scaled-down pipeline, known as Nabucco West, would be roughly half the length of its predecessor and carry only a fraction of the gas, according to executives familiar with the project.
The plan has been presented to BP and other members of the consortium overseeing the development of Azerbaijan’s large Shah Deniz II gasfield. MORE
