Myanmar Awards Contracts for 16 Onshore Oil, Gas Blocks
Myanmar has awarded contracts for 16 onshore oil and gas blocks to foreign energy companies.
According to Reuters, 13 of the 16 contracts were production sharing deals and the rest were petroleum recovery contracts.
Italy's Eni, India's ONGC Videsh and Malaysia's Petronas were among the winners.
In January this year, Myanmar announced that it was accepting bids for 18 onshore oil blocks as part of the Myanmar Onshore Blocks Second Bidding Round - 2013, on a production sharing basis.
As per the statement posted on Ministry of Energy website, the list of winners are:
