McDermott Wins More Work at Tortue
US-based McDermott has landed a subcontract for fabrication of a subsea production system (SPS) at the BP-operated Greater Tortue Ahmeyim LNG project off Mauritania and Senegal, it said on October 24.
The scope includes project management, fabrication engineering, procurement, pre-assembly, fabrication, acceptance tests and system-integration tests, it said. Work will begin in the third quarter of 2019 and wrap up by the third quarter of next year, taking place at McDermott’s Batam facility in Indonesia.
In March, McDermott and Baker Hughes also scored a joint contract to supply equipment for Tortue’s SPS and its subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (Surf). It is also set to fabricate Surf structures. McDermott said the latest contract was worth up to $50mn.
The Greater Tortue Ahmeyim LNG project is on track to deliver first gas in the first half of 2022, exporting up to 10mn mt/yr of LNG.
