Mathiasson to lead Europe's biogas association

The European Biogas Association has elected Sweden's Anders Mathiasson as president for a three year term, it announced May 16.

Mathiasson will serve as president until at least 2025 on the board of EBA's general assembly. He is currently an independent consultant and senior adviser to the Swedish Gas Association.

Mathiasson rose through the ranks to become Swedish Gas Association's CEO in 2004, staying at the helm for more than a decade before departing the role in 2016. His management career in energy started in the mid-1990s at southern Swedish utility Oresundskraft.

The EBA represents almost 8,000 stakeholders across Europe's biogas value chain. Mathiasson's fellow general assembly board members at the association are Michael Niederbacher, Philipp Lukas, Gregory Krupnikovs, Niels Peters, Stefan Rauh and Piero Gattoni.
