Man Energy Solutions, Shell sign MoU on sustainable energy
Man Energy Solutions and Shell have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore collaborative opportunities in sustainable energy solutions, Man said on June 29.
The collaboration between the two companies will focus on several key areas. One of the primary objectives is the optimisation of carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) plants to reduce the costs associated with CO2 capturing. The modularisation and standardization of CCUS compressor solutions will play a vital role in achieving this goal, leading to cost reductions and faster project implementation timelines, Man said.
The partnership will also concentrate on the marine industry, aiming to promote sustainable fuel options and integrated digital services for marine applications. Additionally, the companies will explore collaboration in reducing methane slip, a critical issue for mitigating environmental impact in the marine sector.
Furthermore, the companies said that they are committed to developing integrated decarbonisation solutions that minimise CO2 emissions from their own production plants and supply chains. They will also assist their customers in reducing emissions from their operations, providing comprehensive support in their decarbonisation journeys.
