Lundin gets okay to start up North Sea field
The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said September 2 it had granted permission to energy company Lundin to start operations later this year at the Solveig oil and gas field in the North Sea.
Solveig will utilise tie-ins to the nearby Edvard Grieg field for production of oil and gas. Resources will be processed there before transport elsewhere.

The first phase of development calls for three wells for oil production. The field has estimated reserves of about 9.2mn standard m3 of oil equivalent for phase 1 development, with most of that crude oil.
The estimated 15% in gas reserves will be sent to the St Fergus terminal in the UK. The first gas from an Edvard Greig satellite field offshore Norway landed at the same terminal last month.
Lundin produced that gas during an extended well test at its Rolvsnes field.
For July, the last full month for which the Norwegian government provided data, oil production came in higher than expected, while natural gas production missed the mark. Total July gas sales of 9.7bn m3, however, marked a 1.8bn m3 increase from the previous month.
