Lundin drills dry well off Norway
Sweden's Lundin has drilled a dry well near the Johan Sverdrup oil project in the Norwegian North Sea, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said on October 22.
The well was drilled some 70 km southeast from the Equinor-operated Sverdrup field, at Lundin's production licence 976. Its aim was to prove petroleum in Middle Jurassic and Permian layers, but found no traces of hydrocarbons.

It is the first well to be drilled at the licence.
The Deepsea Stavanger rig used to sink the well will go on to drill a wildcat at production licence 1041 in the North Sea, which is operated by Aker BP.
