Lukoil Co-owner Hospitalised with Covid-19
Leonid Fedun, a co-owner and board member of Russian oil major Lukoil, has been hospitalised after being diagnosed with Covid-19, the Spartak Moscow football club that he chairs said in a statement on May 7.
Fedun has a 9.3% stake in Lukoil, making him the second largest shareholder after CEO Vagit Alekperov. He also sits on the company's board and since 2012 has served as its vice president for strategic development.
Lukoil is Russia's biggest private oil company, producing 2.38mn boe/d of hydrocarbons last year, including 35bn m3 of gas. Fedun helped Alekperov privatise the producer in the 1990s. He also has a controlling stake in Spartak, with Forbes estimating his net worth at $7.8bn.
