Linde to Help with Gas Processing in Kazakhstan

Kazakh national oil company KazMunayGas (KMG) has signed a memorandum with Linde’s gas engineering subsidiary Linde Aktiengesellschaft on cooperation in the processing and utilisation of dry gas and associated petroleum gas in Kazakhstan, it said on December 6.

Their collaboration will include the transfer of technology, staff training and the exchange of experience, KMG said in a statement. KMG CEO Alik Aidarbayev said the partnership would “provide a new impetus to the gas processing sector,” attracting investment and technologies and creating new jobs.

Kazakhstan is on a push to utilise more its gas, by modernising its processing capabilities and expanding gas grid coverage. In October, KMG discussed the potential creation of a joint venture with Linde to build a gas processing plant in its western oil town of Zhanaozen.
