NGE Notes: Kurdistan Sees Direct Gas Sales to Turkey
The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) plans to sell natural gas directly to Turkey in as early as 18 months time.
Speaking at the Caspian Gas Forum presently underway in Istanbul, Ashti Hawrami, Minister of Natural Resources for the semi-autonomous region in northern Iraq said that sales would proceed irrespective of consent from the Baghdad government.
"Even if there's no consensus with Baghdad, we will continue to sell natural gas and oil to Turkey," Hawrami said.
