Kunlun's 2018 Gas Sales Volume Up 17%
Chinese state-owned Kunlun Energy’s natural gas sales volume in 2018 was up thanks to robust demand for the commodity.
Company’s sales volume stood at 21.99bn m3, a year-on-year increase of 17.2%, it said last week. City gas sales volume reached 14.71bn m3, representing a year-on-year increase of 24.41%. Kunlun added 890,000 new residential and 5,680 industrial and commercial users during the year.
Kunlun’s three LNG receiving terminals imported record volumes of LNG in 2018. The three terminals, in total, received 15.3mn mt of LNG, up 45.2% year-on-year. Kunlun, a unit of CNPC, operates three LNG import terminals - Jiangsu, Tangshan and Dalian. The Jiangsu terminal is located in Jiangsu province; Tangshan terminal is in Hebei province and Dalian in Liaoning province. The terminal utilisation rate reached 79.6%, up 24.7% year-on-year.
In 2018, the natural gas pipeline transmission volume was 52.94bn m3, representing a year-on-year increase of 27%, Kunlun said.
This year, Kunlun will continue to optimise the efficiency of LNG terminals and enhance the capacity of LNG processing plants. It said it will increase efforts in promoting the application of natural gas in the transportation field and optimising the distribution of gas refilling stations.
