Kremlin says Moldova owes Gazprom money for gas, contacts are ongoing
MOSCOW, Oct 2 (Reuters) - Contacts between Moldova and Russian energy giant Gazprom are continuing, especially as Moldova owes money, the Kremlin said on Monday after Moldova's energy minister said parts of his country would stop buying gas from Gazprom.
Moldovan Energy Minister Victor Parlicov's comments, referring to parts of the country that the capital Chisinau controlled rather than breakaway areas, suggested that Moldova had strengthened its independence from Russian gas.
