Kogas begins testing Kuwait's Al-Zour terminal
South Korea’s Kogas on July 14 said it had launched a two-week test run at Kuwait Al-Zour LNG terminal. The terminal received its first LNG cargo on July 12.
The terminal is the world’s fifth-largest after Incheon, Pyeongtaek and Tongyeong in South Korea and Sodegaura in Japan, Kogas said. It will import up to 22mn metric tons/year of LNG at full capacity.

The terminal will have eight storage tanks with a combined capacity of 225,000 m3. In December, Greek gas infrastructure operator DESFA won a five-year contract to operate and maintain the terminal.
Kogas said it has carried out a final inspection of all process facilities for test operation since and will start supplying gas to Kuwait by the end of this month.
