Kogas Announces LNG Bunkering JV

South Korea’s Kogas July 14 announced it will form a joint venture with five other companies to offer LNG bunkering service in the country. The joint venture is expected to become operational by October this year.

Kogas has signed an agreement to form the joint venture with steelmaker Posco, refiner S-Oil, Daewoo Logistics, and shipping company Hyundai Glovis. The joint venture will acquire several bunkering vessels and expects to achieve LNG sales of 1.36mn metric tons/yr by 2030, Kogas said.

Meanwhile, Kogas said that South Korea’s ministry of maritime affairs and fisheries has strengthened sulphur-limiting regulations in six major ports in the country.
