Malwai 24: Oilgate: Joyce Banda Implicated in the Hamra, RAK Gas & Pacific Oil Licensing Scandal

The Government has conceded that it is mounting a comprehensive investigation into the oil exploration licences awarded by the Joyce Banda administration to Hamra Oil, RAK Gas and Pacific Oil over comprehensive corruption allegations.

Attorney General Kalekeni Kaphale said previous regime contravened the Malawi’s  Petroleum (Exploration and Production) Act 1983 in issuing licences and signing production sharing agreements with the three companies.
