Jordan's NEPCO Floats Tender for Supply of 59,130,000 MMBtu of LNG Per Year
The National Electric Power Company of Jordan (NEPCO) has invited bids for supply of 59,130,000 MMBtu of LNG per year for four years starting from January 1, 2016.
The fuel would be delivered to the AlâSheikh Sabah LNG terminal at Aqaba. Qualified participants must submit their bids by September 2, 2015, with an award date expected by no later than September 30, 2015, NEPCO said in a tender document published Thursday.
Earlier this month, NEPCO floated a tender for supply of two LNG cargoes (151,500 m3 per cargo) for deliveries in the month of September.
Aqaba terminal received first Qatari LNG earlier in July. A Maltese ship called Castillo de Sebastian was carrying the 160,000 cubic meters of Qatari LNG.
Late last month BAM International said it completed the €65-million-project ($73 million) to construct the Aqaba LNG terminal for Jordan’s Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) two months ahead of schedule.
