Japanese LNG imports down 3% in Nov

Japanese LNG imports in November came in at 5.86mn metric tons, down 2.6% year/year, according to the data published by the country’s finance ministry last week. The imports were up 26.9% month/month, however.

Japan’s shipments last month cost 495.53bn yen ($4.36bn), up 136% yr/yr. The data showed that LNG imports from the Middle East were up 29% yr/yr while imports from Russia were down 10%. Imports from Asian sources were up 28% yr/yr. The imports from the US were down 12.5% yr/yr, the data showed.
