Japan, Russia Examine LNG Options
A consortium of Japanese natural gas companies agreed to examine investments needed for an LNG plant with the Russians, energy company Gazprom said.
UPI reported Tuesday that Alexei Miller, the chief executive at Russia's Gazprom, met with a Japanese delegation led by Ichiro Takahara, director general of Japan's natural resources and energy, in Moscow regarding energy cooperation.
Meanwhile, Gazprom discussed the terms of Russian natural gas supply to the Republic of Korea via the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The delegations of Gazprom and Kogas submitted updated proposals on the major terms and conditions of the contract, and conciliated their approaches to a number of crucial issues.
The parties confirmed their interest in the project and resolved to intensify the negotiations and to hold the next meeting in March.
