Voice of Russia: Italy expert touts South Stream project
The South Stream project’s effectiveness and stability are of interest to Italy, Rome-based economics expert Piero Bini told the Voice of Russia on Thursday.
He also praised the Italian oil and gas company Eni’s participation in the project, which Bini said would help Italy expand its international energy clout.
He said that Italy now badly needs energy resources due to its recent decision to give up nuclear power.
The South Stream gas pipeline is designed to transport Russian gas to Western Europe under the Black Sea.
