Iran Identifies 20 Locations for Small LNG Plants
Iran’s state owned Natural Gas Storage Company (NGSC) has identified 20 locations across the country for building small LNG facilities, NGSC Chief Massoud Samivand said, reports Fars News Agency.
Samivand added that the plants would be built by companies in the private sector.
"Some five investors have so far obtained the necessary license for signing contract to set up the plants," Fars News Agency quoted Samivand as saying. Three more companies are on course to sign contract.
Samivand said that the NGSC closely cooperates with universities and knowledge-based companies.
Earlier this week, Managing Director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) said Iran was looking at constructing small LNG plants and around $100 million would be needed to construct such small plants.
