Iran's Gas Output Could Touch 230 mcm per day by March 2016
Iran’s natural gas output is expected to reach 230 mcm per day by March 2016, according to country’s petroleum minster.
“With plans made [for gas production] and in case the necessary finance is provided, gas production capacity will soar past 230 mcm/d by the end of next Iranian calendar year,” Bijan Namdar Zangeneh was quoted as saying by Shana news agency.
The minster had earlier stated that country’s gas production is expected to touch 100-mcm/d by end of March 2015.
Shana also reported on Saturday that production of natural gas from phase 12 of the South Pars gas field is at 60 mcm/d and would cross 70 mcm/d by the time Platform 12C comes online.
Official in charge of Phase 12 development, Rasoul Falahatian said two platforms 12A and 12B of the phase recover 60 mcm a day of natural gas while Platform 12C is about to start up and will come on-stream during next week.
“Once Platform 12C of the phase comes online, the production from the phase will hit 70 mcm/d of natural gas,” he added.
