Iran Ready to Commission Serajeh Gas Storage Facility
Serajeh gas storage facility in Iran, the first of its kind the Middle East, is complete and ready to be commissioned.
National Iranian Gas Company’s managing director, Javad Oji told Shana News that presidential office will declare the date of official opening.
The facility can store 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas in summer and can deliver 4.5 million cubic meters of gas per day in winter. The facility contains nine wells.
The facility located near city of Qom will take about seven million cubic meters of gas per day from May to November each year with the aim of yielding 10 million cubic meters of gas per day in winter. Iran plans to increase its storage capacity for natural gas to 14 billion cubic meters by the end of 2015.
