Iran, Iraq Agree to Work Together on Common Oil, Gas Fields
Iran and Iraq have agreed to work together in developing hydrocarbon area that the two countries share, a senior Iranian official said.
Masoud Jabbari-Rad, director for coordination and supervision of oil and gas production at the National Iranian Oil Company, said that expert-level talks held between the two countries have resulted in agreements, Fars News Agency reported.
Jabbari-Rad said the Iraqi side needs Iran's financial, technical and technological assistance, adding that NIOC is capable of providing specialized aid to its next-door neighbor.
He noted that Iran's Petroleum Ministry prioritizes the development of shared oil and gas fields.
