Iran Eyes Investment in Mini LNG Plants
Iran is considering investment plans to construct small LNG plants in the country, Press TV reported Monday citing an Iranian energy official.
According to Managing Director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Hamid-Reza Araqi, a large number of investors have shown interest in building mini LNG plants.
Araqi told reporters on the sidelines of a conference on Monday that almost $100 million would be required to construct such small plants.
“So far, eight investors have expressed readiness to participate in this area,” Press TV quoted him as saying.
Araqi expressed optimism that Iran can achieve the mini LNG know-how at the shortest possible time thanks to the country’s technological capabilities and investments by the private sector.
