Iran Expands Kish Gas Field Drilling
The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) has started drilled 13 new wells at the Kish gas field located in the Persian Gulf, Iran’s IRNA news agency reported on earlier this week.
Kish gas field is located 30 km east of Lavan Island and is the largest gas field in the Persian Gulf after South Pars field. The field is estimated to hold 66 trillion cubic foot of gas and 514 million barrels of condensate.
Mohammad Reza Takayedi, managing director of NIDC, said that the project is one of the turnkey projects of which so far 85% of well drilling operations have been carried out.
Officials expect production of one billion cubic feet of gas at the field by November 2015.
