Iran Doubles Gas Imports from Turkmenistan: Opec
Russia cut its imports from Turkmenistan by 6.4bn m3 in 2014 to about 4bn m3 in 2015 while Iran doubled its imports from there, according to Opec’s annual statistical bulletin.
Turkmenistan produced 80.162bn m3 last year, 8.1% more than the previous year, while its exports declined slightly to 45.8bn m3. Domestic demand rose by 3.2% to more than 35.294bn m3.
Turkmenistan exported gas to Iran, Russia and China in 2015, but Gazprom stopped importing from Turkmenistan completely in early 2016.
