Iran Consumed 174 Bcm of Gas Last Year

Iran consumed a total of 173.8 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas during the Iranian calendar year which ended on 20th March 2015.

Director of gas supply at the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Naser Ebrahimi told state owned Shana News Agency that household, commercial and small industries consumed 90 bcm of gas during the period, up by 2.1 bcm compared with the year before.  

Ebrahimi further said that NIGC supplied 50.26 bcm of gas to power plants last year, or 137 million cubic meters of gas per day, up by 15 bcm year on year.

Gas delivery to industrial sector hit 32.6 billion cubic meters, or 89.4 million cubic meters per day, Ebrahimi told Shana.
