Iran Completes Another Gas Storage Facility

Iran has built a new natural gas storage facility with a capacity to store 4.6 billion cubic meters of gas, the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) managing director stated.

According NIGC’s Javad Owji the Shoorijeh facility, located in the northeast of the country, will officially come on stream in the next calendar month of Shahrivar (August 23-September 22), Tehran Times reported citing IRNA News Agency.

Iran’s first natural gas storage facility at Sarajeh was inaugurated in January and has the capacity to store 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas.

In November 2012, Owji said Iran plans to establish 40 gas storage facilities in the coming years.
