Inpex Completes Naoetsu LNG Terminal
Inpex Corporation has announced the completion of the Naoetsu LNG terminal located in Joetsu City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan, the company said in a statement.
The main facilities of the terminal include two above-ground LNG tanks with the storage capacity of 180,000kl, a berth which enables the 210,000m3 loading class LNG tanker (Q-flex) to unload, and vaporizers and calorific value adjustment facilities.
The terminal’s capacity to receive and regas LNG is approximately 1.5 million tonnes per year.
Inpex made the final investment decision to construct the terminal in August 2008, and commenced the construction work in July 2009. The terminal started its operation on December 1, 2013 ahead the original schedule.
As the feed gas to the terminal, company is going to supply LNG based on the LNG Sales and Purchase Agreement with Chubu Electric concluded in July this year, and plans to supply LNG from its LNG projects including the Ichthys LNG project in Australia operated by the company, which will start production by the end of 2016.
