Platts: UK's Ineos hopes for 2017/19 start of shale gas output

UK petrochemicals company Ineos hopes that it could start commercial shale gas production as early as 2017/19, according to documents released by the UK government Friday.

Ineos gave a presentation to the Department of Energy and Climate Change in February 2014 outlining a possible timetable for shale development, with 2017/19 listed as the "earliest possible date for start of commercial production," according to materials released under the Freedom of Information Act.

Ineos notes that "most dates could slip," however.
