India's LNG imports drop 3% in July

India’s LNG imports in July came in at 2.57bn m3 (or about 1.9mn metric tons), down 2.7% year/year, the country’s oil and gas ministry's Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC) website showed on August 25. The imports were up 5% month/month, however.

The cumulative imports during the April-July period, or the first four months of the 2022-2023 financial year, were 9.97bn m3, down 7.9% yr/yr.

The LNG imports last month cost $1.2bn, up from $1bn in the same month last year. The import cost in the April-July period was $4.5bn, up from $3.3bn in the same period last year, PPAC said.
