India's February LNG Imports Drop 9%

India’s LNG imports in February declined for the second month in a row, according to data published March 20 by Indian oil ministry's Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell (PPAC).

The south Asian nation imported LNG equivalent to 1.91bn m3 of pipeline gas (about 1.5mn metric tons of LNG) last month, down 9.2% year-on-year. In January, India imported 2.13bn mof LNG, down 11.6% year-on-year.

During the first eleven months of the present financial year that began April 1, 2018, cumulative imports were 24.76bn m3, up 4.3% compared with the same period of the previous year. India's LNG imports last financial year were the highest ever at 26.4bn m³, up 7% from the year before, according to PPAC data.
