Daily Post: Wrexham gas drilling will go ahead pledges energy giant firm
A gas giant insists it has not ditched controversial plans to test drill for underground gas after security measures were removed.
CCTV cameras, a mobile base and other facilities, to keep watch on the farmland at Borras, Wrexham, where the drilling would take place, were removed today.
Security measures had been put in place there by IGas after campaigners against proposals to test drill for underground gas, were evicted from the field.
Speculation was high this morning why the measures were being removed, with some protesters hoping it could spell a delay or the end of the proposals.
But a spokesman for IGas today insisted it had always been the plan to remove the security measures at some point.
