Huntington Field in UK North Sea Resumes Production

Production at the Huntington field in the UK North Sea was restarted on 19 August 2013, after 11 days of precautionary shutdown due to concerns with the cargo tank venting activities during low wind conditions.

According to a note released by Noreco on Thursday, the output is still subject to weather conditions. Next week production will be temporary shut-in if wind speeds drop below safe venting conditions (approximately 10 knots). 

Production is expected to ramp up to pre-shutdown levels of approximately 27,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, or 23,400 barrels per day of oil and 20 million cubic feet per day of natural gas.

E.ON E&P UK operates the field and owns 25% stake. Premier Oil (40%), Noreco Oil (20%) and Iona Energy (15%) are the other shareholders.

Noreco will provide further production update on 29 August. 

Production at Huntington field has started in April 2013. The filed was shut on 8 August 2013 due to concerns related to the cargo tank venting system on board the platform.
