Halliburton Sees Overseas Shale Growth

Halliburton Co. is looking towards the shale sector to provide the company with growth prospects.

At the Houston-based company's annual analyst meeting, Jim Brown, president of the Halliburton's Western Hemisphere division, said that the company expects significant international growth through the export of shale technology.

The company recently undertook a hydraulic fracturing job in Argentina and won a contract to drill the first well in Mexico's portion of the Eagle Ford shale, Brown said. Company officials also said they see potential for shale drilling jobs in Europe and India.

Halliburton is the second-largest oilfield services company after Schlumberger Ltd.
