Green Rock acquires Pennsylvania RNG operation

Green Rock Energy Partners, a private equity firm focused on sustainable infrastructure investments, said December 8 it had acquired renewable natural gas (RNG) producer PSA South Hills Landfill Gas Venture (South Hills).

Located in Pennsylvania’s South Park Township, south of Pittsburgh, South Hills upgrades landfill biogas to RNG to be sold into the vehicular transportation market as compressed RNG. Production at the facility is expected to exceed 1mn gallons/year, Green Rock said.

In addition to the South Hills acquisition, which closed in Q4 2022, Green Rock has recently made other clean energy investments, including in the RNG platform Viridi Energy and in the renewable power and RNG producer Bio Town Biogas.
