Greek pipeline maker wins Israeli contract
Greek manufacturer Corinth Pipeworks has signed an agreement to supply steel pipes to Israel Natural Gas Lines (INGL), it said April 15.
The 50-km, high-pressure line will run offshore between the cities of Ashdod and Ashkelon and follows a contract between Chevron and INGL that will, when the other elements are also complete, take up to 7bn m³/yr to Egypt. The US major has been operator of the offshore Leviathan and Tamar gas fields since it took over Noble Energy last year.

Egypt does not need to import gas for its own needs but there are two liquefaction terminals on its coast.
The linepipe will be made and coated in Thisvi in Greece this year and the installation of the pipeline is scheduled to start in 2022.
Corinth said the "award is another significant milestone in Corinth Pipeworks' offshore presence in the southeast Mediterranean region, after the successful completion of Leviathan gas and Karish deepwater pipelines." It did not say what the contract was worth.
