Global Climate Talks Continue One More Day
The deadline for a global agreement on climate change has been postponed to Saturday morning, the press office of the UN Climate Change Conference in Paris wrote on Twitter on Friday.
“I am convinced that negotiations will reach a strong and ambitious agreement” Secretary-General of the United Nations Bank Ki Moon commented after the joint conference with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius.
The deal was initially expected on Friday. However, the joint press conference in the early afternoon suggested that the parties remain optimistic.
“I will be able to present a new ‘next’ to Parties tomorrow at 9 am,” Fabius was quoted as saying by the press service of the UN Climate Action.
