Gladstone LNG to Undergo Jan Maintenance

The Santos-operated Gladstone LNG (GLNG) on Curtis island, off Queensland Australia, is due to close one of its two production trains in January, according to a notice on the Australia Energy Market Operator (AEMO) website.

The train will be offline between January 2 and 7. GLNG's overall liquefaction capacity is 7.8mn metric tons/year. Santos operates the facility with a 30% interest, while its partners are Malaysia's Petronas, France's Total and Korea Gas Corp.

Chevron reported this week it had safely resumed operations at a train at another Australian LNG terminal, Gorgon LNG, which had been idle since July when weld quality issues in its propane heat exchangers were discovered.
