Graphic Online: Ghana - More Gas to Flow From Nigeria

Cabinet has approved a request by the Ministry of Power to sign a contract with a Nigerian company for the supply of additional gas to complement gas supply from Nigeria Gas (N-Gas) and Ghana Gas to generate electrical power. Measures are being taken to seek parliamentary approval for the transaction.

The Minister of Power, Dr Kwabena Donkor, who made this known in Tema yesterday, said the gas, in the form of liquefied natural gas (LNG) would be supplied by West Africa Gas Limited, another company that differs from the West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo), Ghana’s traditional transporter of gas from Nigeria.
