GDF Suez, GAIL India and Andhra Pradesh government have signed a deal to set up India’s first floating terminal to import liquefied natural gas.

The terminal will likely have a capacity 3.5 million tons per year is expected to be commissioned by the end of next year.

GDF Suez will hold a 26% stake while Andhra Pradesh Gas Distribution Corp. will have the remainder.

Andhra Pradesh Gas Distribution is owned jointly by GAIL Gas Ltd.and Andhra Pradesh Gas Infrastructure Corp.
