Gazprom says gas to Turkey set a record
Russian natural gas company Gazprom said September 20 that gas flows to Turkey are at an all-time high so far this year.
Gazprom chairman Alexey Miller discussed multilateral gas relations with Turkish minister of natural resources Fatih Donmex. Russia sends gas by way of the TurkStream and Blue Stream natural gas pipelines.

Gazprom said that, as of September 19, it delivered some 716bn ft3 of natural gas to Turkey so far this year, an all-time high.
Russia is one of the main suppliers of natural gas to the European market. That market, however, is buckling under supply-side pressures and the strains of exceptionally high commodity prices.
US energy secretary Jennifer Granholm told the Bloomberg news service September 20 that she wanted a probe into Russian business practices in the European energy market.
“If any entity is manipulating supply in order to make greater profit at a point where Europeans are entering into a winter, and if it’s a cold winter, that needs to be looked at,” Granholm said. “Companies or governments should not be manipulating prices in a way that ends up hurting people.”
Norwegian energy major Equinor, meanwhile, said it received authority from the petroleum ministry to increase gas flows to Europe from the Oseberg and Troll fields beginning October 1.
"We believe that this is very timely as Europe is facing an unusually tight market for natural gas.,” the company said.
Norway is the second-biggest gas supplier to the continent after Russia.
