Gazprom mulls ending involvement in Greek gas JV
Gazprom has said its board of directors will discuss ending the Russian gas supplier's participation in Greece's Prometheus Gas at a meeting on January 27.
Prometheus Gas was established in 1991 as a 50-50 joint venture between Gazprom's export arm and Greek group Copelouzos Bros Group. Under a contract signed in 2017, it receives up to 1bn m3 of gas from Gazprom annually. It is chaired by the general director of Gazprom Export, Elena Burmistrova.

Gazprom did not say why it was considering withdrawing from the joint venture. Prometheus is among the three biggest importers of Russian gas into Greece. The other two are DEPA Commerce and Mytilineos.
Greece more than halved its Russian gas supply last year, replacing these volumes with extra LNG cargoes, brought ashore at its regasification terminal on Revithoussa island. Supply from Gazprom now covers only a fifth of Greek gas demand.
