Gazprom and some other Russian companies are trying to move court cases to Russia from international arbitration. Many of the disputes stem from the breakdown of business relations between Russia and the West over the conflict in Ukraine.
According to CEZ, a Swiss arbitration tribunal had begun to consider its claim of more than 1 billion crowns ($42.7 million) against Gazprom for lower-than-contracted gas delivery.
Austria is seeking to take more radical steps, including ending OMV's long-term contract to buy gas from Gazprom.
The UK Supreme Court ordered on Tuesday a subsidiary of Gazprom to stop suing Italian bank UniCredit CRDI.MI in Russia over an aborted gas project.
