Gazprom's Gas Output, Exports Up Jan-Nov
Integrated Russian monopoly Gazprom produced 451.1bn (Russian) m³ of gas in the first 11 months of the year, which is 5.8% or 24.7bn m³ more than the same period last year. Pipeline sales on the domestic market grew by 4% (8.2bn m³).
It also delivered 2.6% more gas, or 179.9bn m³ to the Far Abroad countries – non-former Soviet Union republics in Europe – during the same period this year than last, according to preliminary data and (10.2%) more than in the same period of 2016.
In particular, gas exports to Germany grew by 9.6%; to Austria by 21%; to the Netherlands by 34.6%, and to France by 6.4%. Exports to Hungary grew by 9.6%; to the Czech Republic by 7.8%; to Greece by 13.4%; to Finland by 10.6%, and to Romania by 25.4%.
However, high shipping costs are making it less attractive to reload LNG for sale outside the EU, so Gazprom will have to work harder to break records next year.
