TTF gas futures contracts have remained elevated this month despite warmer temperatures. The May contract is down 4.8% so far on April 19, at €91 ($98.2)/MWh.
EU gas storage facilities are now 28.7% full, according to data published by Gas Infrastructure Europe. The bloc aims to raise this to 80% by October 1 and 90% by November 1, to safeguard supply security next winter, amid the risk of a disruption in Russian flows. Gazprom said these targets were "very ambitious", noting that such a large amount of gas – 63bn m3 – had not been placed in storage during the injection season in recent years.
