Gazprom Could Delay Launch of First Line of Turkish Stream to End of 2017

Gazprom may delay the launch of the first line of its Turkish Stream until the end of 2017, Alexander Medvedev, the company's deputy CEO, reportedly said in St. Petersburg on Wednesday.

“This time frame is being postponed now. It depends on how quickly the intergovernmental agreement will be signed. Nothing terrible would happen if it is postponed by one year,” Medvedev said as reported by Reuters

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said on Tuesday that the pipeline was still a done deal, adding it intends to halve the capacity of the project to ’up to 32 bcm’ instead of 63 bcm.

The Russian company did not publish the news on its website, giving space to its meetings with European companies.

Other press releases focused on the Nord Stream II, as Gazprom met with OMV and ENGIE. At the same time, Miller met with Walter Peeraer, Chief Executive Officer of Fluxys.

‘The meeting participants considered possible areas of the bilateral cooperation, including Russian gas transit via BelgiumGazprom wrote on its website on Tuesday evening
