FT: Gas price hints shale revolution fading

The price of US natural gas reached an 18-month high on Friday as stocks continued to fall, and hopes intensified that the effect of the shale revolution on the commodity may be waning.

Cold US weather has provided a short-term catalyst for natural gas, with inventory draws exceeding market expectations in six of the past seven weeks. Utilities have taken gas from storage to meet demand.  MORE
