France sees UAE as energy transition partner: press
The UAE are a natural partner in the energy transition, French finance minister Bruno Le Maire was quoted by the Reuters news service as saying November 21.
Le Maire is on tap to meet with Emirati officials, including those representing the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC). The minister said the French government would work with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on projects ranging from renewables to hydrogen.

“Reaching zero carbon emissions by 2050 is an important goal, and we want to work with the UAE on this fight on climate change,” he was quoted as saying. “It's time to give new impetus to economic cooperation between our countries.”
The UAE unveiled its "hydrogen leadership roadmap" at the COP26 climate conference in Glasgow, targeting a 25% share of the global hydrogen market.
The UAE's energy ministry noted that it already had more than seven hydrogen projects underway that will target key export markets including Japan, South Korea, Germany and India initially, "along with additional high-potential markets in Europe and East Asia."
Green hydrogen would play a major role in UAE's domestic efforts to reach net-zero emissions by 2050, the government said. But the CEO of ADNOC said later that continued investments in fossil fuels were still needed during the energy transition.
