The A5EA was built by China’s CNOOC in cooperation with Sinopec and was completed and delivered to the Qingdao site on December 10. It is reported to be the first in the world built by integrated construction of core process modules and pipe gallery modules, and will be the first to arrive at the LNG Canada site, which is expected to see the arrival of most major modules, under construction at two yards in China, this year.
The project is aimed at supplying LNG to China and other Asian countries to meet the growing demand for clean energy in Asia.
